Mumbai: ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ and ‘Riverdale’ fame actor Ryan Grantham has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting and killing his mother. Grantham, best known for her role in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, shot and killed her mother, Barbara Waite, in March 2020. Although, earlier also Ryan had conspired to kill his mother, but after failing in his attempt, he conspired to kill his mother again.

When Grantham’s mother was playing the piano, he took aim at her and shot her in the back of the head, killing Grantham’s mother. When Grantham tried to kill his mother for the first time, he also recorded the video of the whole incident. The 24-year-old actor has now been found guilty of murdering his mother.

The actor was sentenced to life at the British Columbia Supreme Court in Vancouver on Wednesday. Sentenced to imprisonment. According to Canada’s CBC report, Grantham will not be eligible for parole for 14 years. Netflix’s Riverdale fame actor had also conspired to kill the Prime Minister of his country.

When police arrested Ryan after his mother’s murder, three weapons, ammunition and 12 Molotov cocktails were found in his car along with a map of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s house. From which the police came to know that Ryan wanted to kill Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after killing his mother. But, before he could do so, he was killed by the police. Now the court has sentenced Ryan, after which he will have to remain in jail for the rest of his life.
