Even now, tourists will be seen roaming in Bodh Gaya by horse carts and e-rickshaws, but in the midst of all this, a new experiment has been done to woo tourists and camels have been brought here from Rajasthan. One of the important temple in Bodh Gaya is the 80 feet Lord Buddha Temple. Thousands of tourists come to visit here daily. A camel has been made to stand outside this temple decorated like a bride, where tourists coming from outside enjoy the camel ride. Tourists get thrilled by taking a camel ride around the 80 feet Buddha Temple. 20 rupees are charged by the camel owner for taking a photo sitting on the camel and 50 rupees for roaming around the temple. Camel ride is now attracting tourists from India and abroad in Bodh Gaya. Be it children or youth, camel riding has become the first choice for tourists.

Bapan Das, a tourist from Nagaland, says, riding a camel was a lot of fun. It was a new experience. I have come to Bodh Gaya for the first time and it was great to see the temples here. Will come to visit Bodhgaya next time with my whole family. Same camel owner Suresh Kumar says that camel ride has started in Bodh Gaya since last 1 year. Camels have been bought from Rajasthan. The cost of a camel is Rs 120000. Ever since the camel ride started in Bodh Gaya, the taste of tourists has also changed. Now people are liking to roam around Bodh Gaya by riding camel. 20 rupees are taken from those who show photos while sitting on a camel and 50 rupees from those who roam around the temple.
