New Delhi: On February 18, the holy festival of ‘Maha Shivratri’ will be celebrated across the country. On the day of Mahashivaratri, to please Bhole Baba, his devotees keep a fast and worship him. It has been claimed in the Puranas that the marriage of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva took place on the day of Mahashivaratri. By the way, Lord Shiva is also known by the name of Bhole Baba. It is believed that Baba is very innocent and fulfills the wishes of the devotees quickly after listening to them. But this day is even more special, it is said that on this day all the wishes sought from Lord Shiva are fulfilled quickly.

It is said that the festival of Mahashivratri is incomplete without Thandai. If you also want to offer thandai to your beloved on this occasion, then here is the method to make it.

Material

Milk – 1 liter

Almonds – half cup

Poppy seeds – 6 teaspoons

Fennel – half cup

Black pepper – 2 teaspoons

Green cardamom – 5

Watermelon seeds – 4 teaspoons

Melon seeds – 4 teaspoons

Cucumber seeds – 4 teaspoons

Rose petals – 2 teaspoons

• First of all, soak melon, watermelon and cucumber seeds, poppy seeds, fennel, rose leaves, black pepper and cardamom in water overnight in a bowl
• Soak almonds separately.
• Peel the almonds in the morning and grind all the other ingredients together with water to make a fine paste. Now boil the milk and let it cool.
• Mix sugar according to taste in it.
• If there is saffron, add a little saffron as well. Now take water in two glasses and take a muslin cloth. Filter the paste in cloth and then mix water and milk.
• Keep this mixture in the fridge for some time. Finely chopped dry fruits can also be garnished in Thandai. After it cools down, add ice to it.
• Now this Thandai is ready to be offered to Mahadev.
