new Delhi: Today is the birthday of Indian veteran wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt (Yogeshwar Dutt Birthday). Many times he has given many medals to India. Apart from this, he has also won the Bronze Medal for India in the London Olympics. Yogeshwar Dutt was born on 2 November 1982 in Gohana town of Haryana.

Yogeshwar Dutt was born in a family where most of the people were teachers. Yogeshwar’s parents were also teachers. In such a situation, his family wanted Yogeshwar to grow up and become a teacher. But, he had other expectations from his life. Yogeshwar was fond of wrestling since childhood. From the age of just 8, he had started playing wrestling.

Yogeshwar was greatly influenced by Balraj Pehelwan of his village. Yogeshwar also won the school championship title in the year 1992. After which his family also started supporting him. Two years later, in 1994, he participated in the Inter School Cadet Games held in Poland and managed to win the gold medal there. After this Yogeshwar moved to Delhi to give a new direction to his career. After which Yogeshwar started practicing at Chhatrasal Stadium.

For this, Yogeshwar Dutt started living there. During this he also completed his graduation. His father died in the year 2006, after which he became quite disturbed. Then his leg was also injured, due to which he had to stay away from wrestling for a long time.

Yogeshwar qualified for the Beijing Olympics by winning the gold medal in the 2008 Asian Games. But, he was out of medal contention in the quarter-finals of the Olympics. In 2010, Yogeshwar once again won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi. This gold medal was also important because he did this feat despite a knee injury.

The 2012 London Olympics witnessed one of the best moments when Yogeshwar Dutt won the bronze medal. Became the third Indian wrestler after KD Jadhav and Sushil Kumar to win a bronze medal at the Olympics. After winning the Olympic medal, Yogeshwar was also awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the country’s highest sports award in 2012.
